Look: Feeling Beautiful

Have you ever had one of those days where you just felt beautiful? You should. Makeup or not, you are gorgeous, no matter what anyone says.

I woke up the other day feeling absolutely beautiful, so I pampered myself a bit. I did a fairly neutral eye and a bold pink lip. All together, I only used three products, nothing on my face. I also straightened my hair and put my favorite lotion on. It ended up looking great, and I felt beautiful all day.

What I used:
Rimmel London Eyeliner in Jet Black
Clinique Dramatically Different Mascara in Black
A hot pink lipgloss from an unmarked lip palette I own

Feature: Rainbow Eyes

Since I can't do a rainbow-themed look to save my life, I thought I'd show you a few that I found floating around the internet. The people sourced are bloggers that I really like. I definitely recommend checking them out! They're really great. I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I did! If you do your own rainbow look, let me know in the comment section below and if I like it, I'll add it to this list of lovely rainbow looks.

Look: Natural FOTD

A lot of people that I know through my blog assume that because I blog about beauty products, I must wear a lot of makeup everyday. Here is a more accurate FOTD for an average day for me. As always, products are listed below.

As you can see, this look is very natural. The only thing I went slightly heavy on was the lipstick, which was actually dabbed on a napkin before this picture. Later on in the day, I put on a thin layer of blush (not pictured).

What I used:
MUFE Mat Velvet+ Foundation
Monave Mineral Loose Powder
Clinique Eyeshadow in Starstruck
Rimmel London Eyeliner in Jet Black
Clinique Dramatically Different Mascara in Black
Revlon ColorStay Lipstick in Ripened Red

Look: Green With Envy

I wanted to do a look that complimented my eye color, but since my eyes are somewhere between a brown and an orange, I wasn't sure what to do. I thought about it like I would with fashion. Green looks great on me, as well as purple. I decided to go with green and a bit of a peach color, making it a bit more neutral and, therefore, suited for more occasions. I kept my lips very neutral.
As you may be able to see, I also did a multi-wing to make it more interesting.
I was dead tired in these pictures, but wanted something to put up for you all! I'm also not wearing any face products.
What I used:
Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
Alima Pure Eyeshadow in Jaguar
Alima Pure Eyeshadow in Bromeliad
Monave Mineral Powder in Mermaid (89)
Rimmel London Eyeliner in Jet Black
NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Jet Black
Clinique Dramatically Different Mascara in Black
Smashbox Lipgloss in Illume

Review: Clinique Dramatically Different Lipstick

I have nine of these wonderful Clinique Dramatically Different lipsticks to review today. The colors I have are: Pink Beach (22), A Different Grape (30), Sugar Bean (02), Sassy Spice (07), Sweet Honey/Plum Brandy (Duo), Glow Bronze (the sticker fell off!), Blushing Nude (12), Pink Glamour (08) and Tenderheart (sadly not pictured). These all are satin-finish lipsticks, my favorite. Just for reference, here is the bottom of the lipstick tube:
All of these are super creamy and glide on very smoothly. They all have a bit of sheen to them in the sun, which I personally love in a lipstick. I was very happy with the application on all but one, the duo. Since there are two colors on this one lipstick, it is hard to only get one. This problem can be solved by using a brush, but it's a bit of a hassle. These last for about an hour with light drinking. I always use a lip liner with them, as I do with all lipsticks.
A Different Grape
 Blushing Nude
Glow Bronze
 Pink Beach
 Pink Glamour
 Sassy Spice
 Sugar Bean
Sweet Honey/Plum Brandy Duo

Heavy swatches from left to right, top to bottom: Pink Beach, A Different Grape, Sugar Bean, Sassy Spice, Sweet Honey/Plum Brandy, Glow Bronze, Blushing Nude, Pink Glamour and Tenderheart.

From: Macys
Price: $14.50

Product: 9/10

Price: 8/10
Packaging: 10/10
Overall: 9/10

Would I buy this again? I would repurchase Tenderheart, Pink Glamour, A Different Grape, Glow Bronze and Blushing Nude. I would not repurchase the Sweet Honey/Plum Brandy Duo again. The rest are in the "maybe" category.

Review: The Brush Guard Variety Pack

About a year ago, I picked up three variety packs of The Brush Guard, which promises to "keep your makeup brushes like new." Originally, I used them for storing my brushes. They work fairly well for this. The problem is that there is nothing to make them stay. They push toward the ferrule of your brushes and actually cause more harm to your bristles. This happens to me a lot when I put the brushes in the guards and then in my brush roll.
I then started using them to dry my brushes. After I shampooed my brushes, I would slip one of these babies on and store my brushes upside down in a clean cup to dry. This works really well. My brushes don't lose bristles as much and they dry a million times faster. These also help keep the shape of the brush. The only brush I don't like using these with is my baby kabuki. It gets stuck every once in a while and is really hard to get out of the guard, which is just kind of annoying.
From: The Brush Guard
Price: $5.50

Product: 8/10

Price: 10/10
Packaging: 9.5/10
Overall: 9/10

Would I buy this again? I have three packs already, and they've lasted a year now, so probably not.

Haul: MAC & Lemmings

This might be blasphemy in the beauty world, but I don’t really care for MAC Cosmetics. I like some of their stuff, such as their eyeshadow palettes, but generally speaking, that’s all I ever really go in the store for. But when I walked by my local MAC counter last week, I saw Hug Me, which is a gorgeous peachy coral lipstick. So I stopped and looked. Bad idea for my wallet. I ended up buying it, along with two eyeshadows: Orb and Carbon.
Orb is a light, shimmery peach color and Carbon is a matte black. The eyeshadows retail for $15 each and the lipstick was $14.50. With CA tax, I spent a total of $48.39.

And that’s exactly why I didn’t buy the lipstick that I am now lemming over. I really want the Lady Gaga Viva Glam II lipstick! It’s limited edition, so I have to decide soon if I want it that bad! Maybe I can ask Santa for it for Christmas!
If anyone wants to see a formal review on any of the items I purchased, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
